The staff at Mobile Service & Repair are continuing our community outreach programs that we began towards the end of the year last year. From now until the end of march we will be accepting donations on behalf of The Garage. Beginning in a small garage on the west side of Wadsworth in 2005, The Garage had a goal of reaching out to “at-risk” youth in Wadsworth. As the number of kids attending grew, they built skateboard ramps, a kitchen, and even expanded to take up all of the bays of the garage. Kids came from all around to skate and found a place that was appealing to their taste but also safe from the pressures of their normal surroundings. During their expansion, they were taken under the umbrella of Youth For Christ, and trained volunteers to help within the organisation. Eleven years after opening, The Garage provides many get togethers for a wide range of youth; junior high club, high school club, and teen moms to name a few. For the month of November we collected canned goods for the Wadsworth Salvation Army. We also contributed some canned goods to the cause. For the month of November, we will be collecting personal hygiene items and gently used clothing for Marion’s closet. Any customer that donates and has an open invoice will receive a discount. For the month of December, our Give Back Initiative is collecting items of need for donation to Marian’s Closet, a local non-profit organization. Their mission statement is this: “To improve the quality of life to those most in need, by offering encouragement, hope and dignity (through meeting their daily needs) while giving them the opportunity for individuals to meet their full potential.” Items of specific need are bathroom toiletries and personal items, such as shampoo, a toothbrush, toothpaste, or deodorant, and diapers for infants size 5. You may find a complete list of items on the Donation page of their website at: www.marianscloset.org. This month, save $1 off per item you bring in, up to $5 per invoice, with items donated. During the month of November, Mobile Service & Repair will be ‘Giving Thanks’ to our community by hosting a canned food drive. Bring in canned goods to receive a discount ($1 per can, up to $5 off, per invoice), all canned foods will be accepted! Collected goods will be donated to the Wadsworth Salvation Army Food Pantry.
